Abstract

The process of agricultural modernization in industrialized and low-industrialized countries has been associated with the adoption of the technological model disseminated by the Green Revolution. This model, which emerged in the aftermath of armed conflicts in response to population growth, was developed under the assumption that the problems of poverty and hunger were primarily production-related. Currently, there is greater awareness that the aforementioned problems are not solved solely by increasing production (1); rather, factors related to the distribution and control of natural and economic resources also play a role.
