Selective media (Salmonella-Shiguella Agar, Eosin Methylene Blue, and Brilliant Green Agar) were used to evaluate the presence of pathogenic bacteria in water samples previously collected from a bathroom faucet at the University of Cundinamarca Main Campus and La Esperanza Farm. Water samples were taken in the morning (9:00 am) and in the afternoon (2:00 pm). The number of bacterial colonies present in the samples was determined by plate count, and the samples were plated on the aforementioned selective media. No bacterial colonies were found in the water samples taken at the University Main Campus, but presumptive growth of Salmonella bacteria and Escherichia coli was found on the brilliant green agar in the samples taken from the La Esperanza Farm faucet in the afternoon.Downloads
