Diagnosis of the floristic composition associated with agricultural activities on Quinini Hill (Colombia)

The floristic composition and diversity of three plant formations, the humid premontane (bh-PM), the dry premontane (bs-PM) and the humid lower montane (bh-MB), associated with agricultural activities in Cerro el Quininí in the Sumapáz region (Cundinamarca, Colombia), were studied. A transect methodology subdivided into 10 quadrants (2x10 m) was used. Alpha diversity was calculated using the Margalef, Simpson and Shannon-Wiener indices. No similarity was evident between the three plant formations according to the Jaccard coefficient. A total of 94 species were recorded in the plant formations, distributed in 59 families and 81 genera. The family with the highest species richness was Asteraceae (8), followed by Fabaceae (6). The most abundant species were Pteridium sp (164), Blechnum sp (55) and Senna spectabilis (30). The formation that presented the greatest number of species was the premontane humid forest, which corresponds to the largest proportion of the reserve, however, the diversity of families does not represent the original vegetation of this hill, characterizing the species identified in successional states, due to an intense intervention by agricultural activities carried out on private properties that make up the reserve (92%).Downloads
