About the Journal

1. FOCUS AND SCOPE

The Revista Ciencias Agropecuarias (RCA) is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad de Cundinamarca, Colombia.

RCA is an interdisciplinary scientific journal with a focus on Agricultural Sciences (UNESCO Classification: 31). Its primary objective is the dissemination of research that contributes to the knowledge and development of the sector at national and international levels. In its thematic orientation, the journal aligns with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 13 (Climate Action), and 15 (Life on Land).

2. MISSION AND VISION

RCA's mission is to serve as a high-quality platform for the dissemination of scientific, technological, and academic knowledge in the field of agricultural sciences. It seeks to foster dialogue among researchers, professionals, and students and to promote innovative solutions to the challenges of the agri-food and environmental sectors.

RCA aspires to consolidate itself as a reference publication in the field of agricultural sciences within the Latin American context, recognized for its scientific rigor, thematic relevance, and contribution to sustainable development.

3. THEMATIC SCOPE AND TARGET AUDIENCE

The contents of RCA fall within the following thematic areas and corresponding disciplines:

• Agronomy and other agricultural sciences
• Animal science and zootechnics
• Environmental sciences and ecology
• Biological sciences
• Geosciences and cartography
• Agribusiness economics and management
• Agricultural sciences education and rural development
• Veterinary medicine
• Agro-industrial engineering and food engineering

RCA is aimed at an audience including researchers, academics, professionals, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and decision-makers in the public and private sectors interested in the advancement of agricultural sciences and rural development.

4. ARTICLE TYPES AND LANGUAGE

RCA publishes original contributions in Spanish and English, under the following typologies defined by the journal in accordance with the Publindex-Minciencias parameters:

5. PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

RCA is published in electronic format only (eISSN: 2422-3484) under a continuous publication model. Articles are published online as soon as they are approved in the editorial process and are grouped into two annual issues: January-June and July-December. Each published article receives a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for its correct citation and permanent location.

6. FUNDING

RCA is an academic publication fully funded by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad de Cundinamarca (Colombia). Consequently, the entire editorial process, from reception to publication, is free of charge for the authors. The journal does not apply Article Processing Charges (APCs) or manuscript submission fees.

7. OPEN ACCESS, COPYRIGHT, AND PUBLISHING LICENSE

RCA is an immediate open-access journal. Its content is distributed free of charge to support a greater global exchange of knowledge. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) 4.0 license.

This license allows readers and authors to copy and disseminate the article in its final published version, provided that the author(s) of the article are acknowledged and identified, the work is not used for commercial purposes, and no derivative works or modifications are made.

8. CONTENT ARCHIVING

RCA uses the Portico platform to ensure the digital archiving and long-term preservation of its content. Likewise, the journal permits authors to self-archive the final published version of their article in institutional or thematic repositories, or on personal websites.

9. CONTENT LIABILITY

Responsibility for the concepts, analyses, and conclusions expressed in articles published by RCA rests exclusively with their authors. The content of the works does not represent or commit the official position of the journal's editorial team, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, or the Universidad de Cundinamarca.

10. PRIVACY STATEMENT

The names and email addresses provided to RCA will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available to third parties or for any other purpose.
