Adaptation of the Osvaldo Pugliese, Aníbal Troilo and Juan D’Arienzo styles to the tango Makía sextet

This article presents the results obtained from the stylistic analysis carried out on three typical tango orchestras during the period from the late 1940s to the early 1960s: Osvaldo Pugliese, Aníbal Troilo and Juan D’Arienzo; as well as the subsequent adaptation of three works performed in these styles, by the tango Makía sextet. So, between 8 to 10 songs performed by each orchestra were analyzed, to then answer what are the distinctive characteristics that define the style of each orchestra and how each style can be adapted and interpreted in a smaller instrumental format and with non-instrumental instruments. belonging to the typical orchestra format.Downloads
